A video shows the former Heisman trophy winner and Oakland Raider receive the news of his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

With a bevy of his peers, players like Jerry Rice, Art Monk, Cris Carter, Michael Irvin and Andre Reed, having already been inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, it seemed only a short matter of time before Tim Brown joined them. Still, it was an emotional moment when Brown was actually delivered the news.

Tim Brown’s son Taylor captured the moment on Instagram.

With the log-jam at the wide receiver position, Tim Brown had to wait a bit longer than other members of the Hall to get his mustard-colored jacket. former Indianapolis Colts receiver Marvin Harrison commented on Brown’s induction.

From Pro Football Talk:

"“I’m ecstatic that Tim Brown got in,” Harrison said. “I’m glad he doesn’t have to wait and go through this another year. Tim Brown is the man. Tim Brown, in my opinion, should have been in there five years ago. That’s just my opinion."

In other years it would be quick, no-brainer to have added Brown earlier, but now the NFL Hall of Fame has too many first-ballot players to all fit onto one ballot. The wait comes off as a perceived slight.

This will only get worse for the receiver position at the Hall, as Harrison and Torry Holt are lurking candidates, while Terrell Owens and Randy Moss soon will join them.
