Tom Brady has been named Super Bowl XLIX MVP.
There was really no contest with this decision.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been named the most valuable player of Super Bowl XLIX. Brady completed 37 of 50 passes for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Patriots to a 28-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks for their fourth Super Bowl Championship. His 37 completions were also a Super Bowl record.
This is Tom Brady’s third Super Bowl MVP award. He joins the legendary Joe Montana as the only two players in NFL history to win three Super Bowl MVP’s.

Brady continued to link his career with Joe Montana’s throughout this entire game. With his second touchdown pass of the game, Brady tied Montana’s record for most touchdown passes in Super Bowl history. With his third touchdown pass of the game, he broke Montana’s record, later adding one more to his record with his fourth touchdown of the game.
Also, with winning his fourth Super Bowl title, Brady now has the same amount of Super Bowl victories as Joe Montana.
Brady did throw two interceptions in the game, but against a great defense like the Seattle Seahawks have, it’s going to happen. Bottom line: Brady managed the game superbly and marched the Patriots down the field for the game-winning touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game.
There was really no other player that they could have chosen from the Patriots for MVP. You could have maybe considered Julian Edelman, who had 9 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown, with his touchdown being the game-winner. You could also maybe consider rookie Malcolm Butler, who had the game-winning interception on a goal-line stand for the Patriots. However, that’s only one play, even though it was a huge play.
They made the right decision with Brady, who was brilliant throughout the entire game. His fourth championship and third MVP will cement him as a future Hall of Famer, and certainly in the conversation as one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.
