ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd said of Dan Patrick that he doesn’t work very hard, “needs 35 producers to fill a segment”.

ESPN radio’s Colin Cowherd was extra fired up Monday morning, during his regular weekly broadcast. The radio host, who is a known New England Patriots supporter, went on an offensive while going over the news earlier today of Johnny Manziel being entered into rehab.

Cowherd, who usually likes to draw comparisons from other situations to better describe meaning, came to the defense of Skip Bayless, who called Manzel an alcoholic.

However, it was during his defense of Bayless that The Herd decided to throw a shot at American sports journalist Dan Patrick.

In the clip below, Cowherd defends Bayless’ work ethic — and also mentions Jim Rome’s as well — before lighting up Patrick.

“I’ve worked in this business 35 years. Skip outworks all of us.  The hardest working guy when I got into this business was Jim Rome…  That guy grinds it every day. You don’t know anybody that works like him.  This radio business I’m in is full of guys who read the sports page and rip crap off.  I’m here three hours a day.  So is Rome-y,” said Cowherd, before ripping Patrick.

“Dan Patrick doesn’t work as hard as Rome, not even close.  That’s why I’ve always respected Rome-y.  He puts the time in.  Patrick needs 35 producers to fill a segment”.

The clip also went on to be featured on the Dan Le Batard show as Guillermo’s epic sound of the day, which is a regular segment.  The Le Batard crew laughed it up after hearing the sound “35 producers, that sounds like our show.”
