There are only five games for the all day FanDuel tournaments, so thereĀ are onlyĀ two games that start at 10pm eastern time, so all of us night owls have another tournament to enter. Most of the stars are in the late night tourneys, so you have to manage your money here!
Here are my late night FanDuel lineups for February 3:
Point Guards:
Bargain:
Trey Burke, Jazz ($5,600): Burke is back to starting again, and has been over 18 fantasy points in each of those games. If you have to go cheap at one PG position, Burke is probably your best bet.
Worth The Cost:
Stephen Curry, Warriors ($10,000): Curry has four straight games of more than 40 fantasy points. That said, in his last outing against the Kings on January 23rd, Curry netted just 29.3 fantasy points. That was likely because Klay Thompson had a career night. Expect Curry to at least flirt with 40 tonight.
Damian Lillard, Trailblazers ($8,700): Lillard has only been under 30 fantasy points once in his last nine games. He is a strong play against the Jazz tonight, especially with the kind of roll he is on. If you can swing both Curry and Lillard, you will be on the right track in the late night games.
Risky Play:
Darren Collison, Kings ($6,700): Collison played well against Golden State (31.2 fantasy points) on January 23rd. Still, in the three games since, he has been under 20 fantasy points in two of those. He could be a good play, or you could get a sub-20 performance.
My Lineups:
A: Curry and Lillard ($18,700)
B:Ā Collison and Burke ($12,300)
Next: Can Klay Thompson Do It Again?
Jan 31, 2015; Oakland, CA, USA; Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) attempts a shot over Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic (1) in the third quarter at Oracle Arena. The Warriors defeated the Suns 106-87. Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports
Shooting Guards:
Bargain:
Wesley Matthews, Trailblazers ($5,800): Matthews is averaging 27.1 fantasy points over his last eight games after a rough stretch in Mid-January. He is safe to deploy again, though he is mostly reliable on points. He should get plenty of open shots against the Jazz though.
Worth The Cost:
Klay Thompson, Warriors ($8,200): You all remember what Klay Thompson did against the Kings in their last meeting, right? If not, let me refresh your memory. He had a career high 52 points en route to a monster 69.9 fantasy point night. It is unreasonable to expect a repeat, but the Kings are still lax on perimeter defense. That hasnāt changed. He still has a great shot at 40 fantasy points, which makes him worth the cost.
Risky Play:
Ben McLemore, Kings ($4,200): McLemore is good for a sure double digit fantasy point line, but thatās about it. He doesnāt hit 20 with regularity. He does get starterās minutes, so he is usually able to get you at least something. And if he makes you able to afford another star, he just might be worth it.
My Lineups:
A: Matthews and McLemore ($10,000)
B: Thompson and McLemore ($12,400)
Next: There Are Some Cheap Options At SF

Small Forwards:
Bargain:
Joe Ingles, Jazz ($4,400): He should be nearly 100 percent owned in any late night tournament. He has topped 20 fantasy points in five straight games, and is the unquestioned starter at SG for the Jazz. That means he is consistently giving you 4.5 to 5x value. You almost have to take him!
Worth The Cost:
Gordon Hayward, Jazz ($8,100): Hayward lit up the Warriors on Friday. He likely wonāt have as many open shots against Portland, but they have not defended SFās very well either. Hayward should have no problems keeping his streak of 20+ fantasy games alive. It is currently at 16. Better than that, he has been over 34 fantasy points in four of his last five games. He could make it five of six tonight.
Rudy Gay, Kings ($8,000): If you take out his awful game against Golden State (9.6 fantasy points in 13 minutes on January 23rd), he has averaged 30.3 fantasy points per game. He is playing the Warriors again tonight, but I would not expect a repeat of that disaster. I would expect him closer to 30.
Risky Plays:
Nicolas Batum, Trailblazers ($5,400): Batum has been unable to put any consistent outings together. In his last ten games, he has missed a game. scored as low as 9.6 fantasy points, and scored as high as 46.5. Is it worth the risk? Probably not, even on a light entry like this.
Harrison Barnes, Warriors ($4,500): Barnes has received plenty of minutes when the Warriors go small, but they will not do that against the Kings tonight. Is his last outing against Sacramento, he played 23 minutes and had just 13.5 fantasy points. He will be closer to that output than the 36 minutes and 32.1 fantasy points that he saw against the Suns on Saturday.
My Lineups:
A: Ingles and Barnes ($8,900)
B: Batum and Ingles ($9,800)
Next: You Have To Take LMA Tonight
Jan 24, 2015; Portland, OR, USA; Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge (12) looks to shoot over Washington Wizards forward Nene Hilario (42) during the second quarter at the Moda Center. Mandatory Credit: Craig Mitchelldyer-USA TODAY Sports
Power Forwards:
Bargain:
David Lee, Warriors ($5,800): He is gradually taking on a bigger role, but he is still having problems nudging Draymond Green off the court. That does limit his ceiling, but the Kings are big up front. The Warriors will have to rotate their big men more than usual. Lee should find himself in the low 20ās for fantasy points. He is an acceptable play if you canāt afford one of the top two.
Worth The Cost:
LaMarcus Aldridge, Trailblazers ($9,900): LMA has averaged 47.6 fantasy points per game in the four games since his return. He could be the cheapest guy that can net you 50 fantasy points tonight. The Jazz arenāt really big up front, and arenāt particularly strong either. LMA could have another big game.
Derrick Favors, Jazz ($7,500): Favors has put up three straight games of 30 or more fantasy points. One of those was against the Clippers! He seems to be back on track after an illness sapped his productivity and cost him a game two weeks ago.
Risky Play:
Marreese Speights, Warriors ($4,600): Speights is having a really hard time getting consistent minutes with David Lee healthy. In fact, he didnāt even play against the Suns on Saturday. He is no longer a lock for 20 minutes a night, but the last time he faced the Kings, Speights played 21 minutes and had 28.7 fantasy points. The Warriors play matchup a lot, so Speights should see a decent run tonight.
My Lineups:
A: Aldridge and Lee ($15,700)
B: Aldridge and Speights ($14,500)
Next: What Do You Do If You Can't Afford Cousins?
Center:
Bargain:
Jan 30, 2015; Salt Lake City, UT, USA; Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (27) controls the ball during the second half against the Golden State Warriors at EnergySolutions Arena. The Jazz won 110-100. Mandatory Credit: Russ Isabella-USA TODAY Sports
Rudy Gobert, Jazz ($6,100): Gobert has been losing minutes if Enes Kanter starts off hot, but Gobert always seems to put up respectable fantasy lines none the less. He has only been under 20 fantasy points once in his last ten games. He is the safer play if you canāt afford Cousins.
Worth The Cost:
DeMarcus Cousins, Kings ($10,900): Cousins has not missed any time with his sore knee, so he should be able to play tonight. He has been over 45 fantasy points in five of his last six games. He is the most likely late night player to top 50 because he has done it twice in his last five games. He also just missed twice, with two 49 point games. You almost need to set aside money to play Cousins tonight.
Risky Plays:
Andrew Bogut, Warriors ($5,500): Bogut has just 34.7 fantasy points over his last two games. He did manage 22.5 fantasy points the last time he played the Kings, but I wouldnāt play him against Cousins. Find the 4-600 extra and gamble on one of Utahās centers instead.
Enes Kanter, Jazz ($5,900): Gobert is the more consistent play, but Kanter has put up two games over 40 fantasy points in his last six outings. That said, during that stretch he also has two games under 15. It is hard to trust him right now, especially with Gobert lurking.
