HBO Boxing has released a statement saying that they are ‘ready to go’ and only await the two fighters to come to an agreement.

In light of HBO’s recent announcement of the price for pay-per-view in showing the would-be fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, the network company has released a statement on Monday in regards to the growing pressures of boxing fans all over the world in regards to the much-anticipated fight.

It is as follows:

"We are not an impediment to this fight. We stand ready to go. The principals need to agree to terms and come to a deal."

Pretty much what they’re saying is: “hey man, we’re ready. It’s those two guys who need to settle up before anything can be done” — which is something I am sure no one would disagree with.

For years now, rumors have been flying of a possible fight between the two contenders but with each passing year, they fail to deliver.

However, this is the closest we have come to seeing a deal made between the two to plan a fight. The fact of the matter is that if the deal doesn’t come to blows (pun intended) soon, then we might see the possibility of the fight disappear entirely. It really just comes down to these two fighters.

According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo News, Pacquiao has said numerous times that he is willing to agree to whatever Mayweather wants, whether that be a 60-40 purse split favoring Mayweather, or the drug testing that he’s pushing for, or the date and venue that he wants. Yet Pacquiao remains nothing if not stonewalled by Mayweather who seems to rather spend his time jetting around the world, lounging on beaches, and taking photos of himself in exotic locales for social media.

Hopefully, the deal comes soon. Both of the fighters are past their prime and momentum is being lost with each passing day. Whatever. Here’s the training montage from Rocky.
