Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle is in trouble….again. Randle was arrested early Wednesday for marijuana possession and possession of a firearm.

Joseph Randle entered the offseason with a chance to become the Dallas Cowboys’ lead running back if All-Pro DeMarco Murray decided to head elsewhere. Instead, it could be Randle heading out of town, for all the wrong reasons.
For the second time in four months, Randle found himself in handcuffs, this time being arrested in Wichita, Kansas for possession of marijuana, a more serious upgrade from his shoplifting arrest in October.

Wichita police responded to a domestic violence call at a local hotel around 3 am. When police searched the room, marijuana was found, resulting in Randle being arrested. The 22-year-old woman — who has a child with Randle — said she was at the hotel in order for Randle to see his child.
Randle completed his second season with the Cowboys, rushing for 343 yards and three touchdowns on 51 carries.
Getting caught with weed is far secondary for Randle in the NFL’s post-Ray Rice world. Should the domestic violence accusations stick, Randle will likely get an unwelcome call from the league office, one that will result in some sort of punishment.
With Lance Dunbar able to provide a similar change-of-pace to Murray, there’s a strong chance the Cowboys could part ways with Randle. Owner/general manager Jerry Jones is already looking for ways to pare salary in order to keep both Murray and Pro Bowl wideout Dez Bryant, Randle’s foolish off-field choices may have put him front and center to have his nameplate removed from the AT&T Stadium locker room.
The NFL’s offseason is not even 72 hours old, yet the police blotter is already off to a running start. Randle’s arrest comes on the heels of Colts linebacker D’Qwell Jackson’s visit to the clink after he allegedly punched a pizza delivery person twice in the head in a dispute over a parking spot. Jackson, of course, is the player whose interception of Tom Brady in the AFC title game set the seeds for DeflateGate.
Under the league’s new policy for violent crime, Jackson will be subject to some level of punishment and could be barred from the team facilities until the issue is resolved.
After a crime-riddled 2014 season, the NFL’s players are wasting no time in further dampening whatever progress commissioner Roger Goodell was hoping the offseason would provide.
