2. Skechers: Pete Rose in the Hall
Even though Skechers shoes have really fallen out of style since 2000, this commercial was extremely comical. For starters, this commercial was based about Pete Rose and how he is not in the MLB Hall of Fame. Even though Rose has the most hits out of any player to ever grace an MLB field, Rose will likely never be allowed in the Hall of Fame because he bet on games. The MLB Hall of Fame’s nickname is the “Hall” and this commercial kind of gave a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge to the viewers showing Rose and how him not being in the “Hall” is ridiculous.
The reason why this commercial was so great is because it was not only comical, but it also intertwined MLB and its fans into the Super Bowl. For MLB fans who were watching the game, this commercial gave a little bit of recognition to their sport. Even though the commercial says that Rose can’t even be in Hall in his own house, the good news is that Skechers have memory foam insoles as well as a roomy toe area! Rose even says that whether you’re in the Hall or anywhere else, you should wear Skechers relaxed-fit shoes.
