New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady went on the attack after the Seattle Seahawks’ corner was injured

After New England drove down the field in the first quarter and looked to take the early lead, Seattle Seahawks’ cornerback Jeremy Lane returned an interception and subsequently suffered a gruesome injury on the play. After he went down, both Brady and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels were ready to attack even more.

More from New England Patriots

“Lane’s out of the game,” McDaniels said to Brady, who then subsequently asked McDaniels about Lane’s replacement. McDaniels not sure, said, “They’re gonna have to put somebody else in there.”

New England immediately went on the attack, going after newly subbed in Tharold Simon and Brady found Brandon LaFell for a touchdown to give New England the lead.

New England took advantage of a banged up Seahawks secondary the entire night and Brady ended up throwing 50 passes against the best secondary in the league.

The Seahawks depth was already thin with Richard Sherman having an elbow injury, Earl Thomas having a shoulder injury and Kam Chancellor playing through a torn MCL. The Seahawks couldn’t afford any more injuries on the back end and after Lane went down, Brady took them to task.

Brady would end the night with 328 yards to go with four touchdown passes.

Give credit to Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels for calling a game plan to attack the Seahawks secondary when they weren’t at their best rather than backing down and going more conservative because of their reputation.
