Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez will miss the North London derby against Tottenham.
Arsenal will have to be without their top goal-scorer Alexis Sanchez as they take on Tottenham this weekend in the North London derby.
Sanchez will be sidelined with a hamstring injury, the club announced. He leads the club with 12 goals this season in 21 Premier League appearances. He also has added seven assists so far this season. Arsenal will most likely have to rely on Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck to fill the void that Sanchez will lead.

It won’t be an easy task as they take on Tottenham. It’s always a heated battle between these two teams being in-town rivals, especially with it being London. Adding to that intensity is the fact that Tottenham is just 2 points behind Arsenal for fifth in the Premier League. If Tottenham can pull out a win over Arsenal this weekend, they will leap frog their in-town rivals for fifth place in the league.
Arsenal also has a lot to play for, though. The Gunners are right on the tails of Southampton and Manchester United, who hold fourth and third place in the league, respectively. With a win, they have the potential of moving into third place.
It seems like Sanchez is trying to push manager Arsene Wenger to put him in the game.
"The latest is that Alexis is not ready, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger told the club’s website. He is not far away, the Leicester game [at home next Tuesday] is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet."
They could really use Sanchez for this one, as they are already without midfielders Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
It’s been an up and down season so far for Arsenal. However, lately it’s been more up than down. The Gunners are 4-0-1 in their last five games, including a 5-0 win over Aston Villa this past Sunday. Sanchez did not play in that game either.
Wenger will need his players to dig deep and really play a complete team game if they want to take down their North London rivals at White Hart Lane.
