Rece Davis will be the new man leading the College GameDay charge come this fall
As far as college sports go on ESPN, there have been two constants in regards to coverage, and those two constants are Rece Davis and Chris Fowler. Now, one will be replacing the other in a pretty prominent role.
Apparently, once this fall hits, Rece Davis will be replacing Chris Fowler as the host of College GameDay, a move which will make Saturday mornings mighty different, to say the least.

Now as of this posting, there is no word yet on why exactly there is the need for Fowler to be replaced in his chair by Davis, but that will be the case nonetheless.
As far as actually being a GameDay host, Davis does have some experience in that regard, as he has been the face of college basketball GameDay since its inception in 2005. So for the most part, all he really has to get used to is the new cast he’ll be working with on the college football scene.
Not having Fowler in the head chair will certainly be something to get used to as time goes on, but as far as a replacement, ESPN went with the safe and obvious move of having Rece Davis take the reins.
