The Cleveland Cavaliers will need to start a new win streak after dropping one to the Indiana Pacers on Friday night

Throughout the course of the last 12 games, the Cleveland Cavaliers were clicking on all cylinders. It was fairly easy to tell this, you know, given the fact that they’ve won their last 12 games heading into Friday night.

Well on Friday night, the win streak party came to an abrupt end at the hands of the Indiana Pacers, who came away with the 103-99 win.

In the winning effort for the Pacers, David West turned in a phenomenal performance, dropping in 20 points with 13 rebounds to give him the every-coveted double-double. Shooting guard C.J. Miles was the leading scorer in this one for the Pacers, as he dropped in 26 points total with four rebounds and three assists.

As for the Cavaliers, they put up a valiant effort in this one to keep the streak alive, but they just couldn’t hold on in the end. Kyrie Irving finished up with 29 points with four rebounds and five assists, while LeBron James ended up with 25 points, six rebounds and five assists.

While the loss hurts, the Cavaliers have nothing to hand their heads about with this loss. Prior to rattling off that 12-game win streak, the media was tearing them apart with rumors of a rift in the locker room between the players and first-year head coach David Blatt and Kevin Love was taking criticism left and right in regards to maybe not being the right piece for this team.

Now, though, this team has showed themselves that they can stand toe-to-toe with the best in the NBA, and that sort of confidence will go a long way the rest of the regular season, as well as when it comes time for the Eastern Conference Playoffs this spring.
