The Chicago Bulls and head coach Tom Thibodeau are in a rocky relationship that could end with the Sacramento Kings poaching him amid the chaos.
Over the past few years, there have been few coaches as universally respected as Chicago Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, but there has also been no top tier head coach who has been met with such resistance from his front office. That’s the case with Thibodeau in Chicago and it’s something that could unravel the relationship completely.

If Thibodeau is let go by the Bulls, or the situation becomes so diseased that things cannot be worked out, then the Sacramento Kings could enter the equation as an equalizer — and an employer — for Thibodeau.
According to Kings beat writer Jason Jones, the Kings are going to be looking at Tom Thibodeau as an option this summer, since his time with the Bulls seems to be nearing an end.
Also, Kings will look to see if any good coaches (like the one in Chicago) might become available. Another reason to wait on a new coach.

Thibodeau and the Bulls are in no way guaranteed to split up at the end of the season but the writing is very much on the wall for both parties. If the relationship ends, the Kings won’t be the only team out to get Thibodeau, as the Knicks would gladly jettison Derek Fisher if it meant getting Thibodeau.
Of course, this is assuming that the Bulls get rid of their head coach — which would be a stupid decision — but if it happens the sharks are already starting to circle.
