Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James punished Indiana Pacers veteran forward Luis Scola with a chase down block in their loss on Friday night.

LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers saw their 12-game win streak snapped against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night by a final score of 103-99. It wasn’t a pretty performance, but the Pacers simply came out and executed their game plan perfectly from start to finish.

Cleveland desperately needed the 12-game winning streak that they just lost, as it got them back into legitimate championship consideration. They are beginning to play better together and mesh, and the additions of J.R. Smith, Timofey Mozgov, and Iman Shumpert have been exactly what they needed. At this point in time there is no doubt that they are contenders in the Eastern Conference, but they still have some work to do to reach their full potential.

Despite the loss, James came up with a few different highlight plays. One of those highlights was a chase down block of Pacers’ veteran power forward Luis Scola, who simply wasn’t ready for the beating that came his way. Scola got out on the break and tried to go up for the layup, but both the ball and Scola ended up on the floor after James was done with them.

It certainly wasn’t a moment that Scola would like to relive, but it is a moment that quite a few NBA players around the league have experience.

Take a look at James spiking Scola’s layup attempt away:

Needless to say, that is one of the reasons that James is considered the NBA’s best player. On the other side of things, if the Pacers get Paul George back in March, they will be a tough team to deal with come playoff time. Both teams played a hard-nosed basketball game, but the Cavaliers simply couldn’t make the plays down the stretch.
