Harry Kane tells young fan he’d reject Manchester United move (Video)

Harry Kane is the darling of the Tottenham Hotspur fan base right now after the 21-year-old had a brace in a win over Arsenal Saturday.

Who’s got it better than Harry Kane? Not many.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward scored two goals—running his total on the season to 22—to carry Spurs to a 2-1 North London derby win over Arsenal Saturday.

Before the game, Kane visited his old youth team, Ridgeway Rovers, and delighted a young fan by saying he would reject a move from Tottenham to Manchester United.

So what has made Kane so insanely popular? For starters, his play has Tottenham in contention for its first Champions League appearance since 2010.

And he’s done it while appearing to be every bit of a guy who should be in the stands, not in front of them.

The 21-year-old is a completely unimposing 6-foot-2 and 142 pounds. He looks as if a stiff breeze would blow him off the pitch like so much flotsam swirling around from the stands.

The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg wrote not so much a column as a fan club newsletter on Saturday, imploring England to add Kane to its national side.

"Is there a more enjoyable footballer in the world at the moment than Kane? The answer is a resounding no. You could make an argument for Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. You could put forward a case for Sergio Aguero or Neymar or Eden Hazard and your logic would be sound.Sound but dull, that is. The beauty of Kane is that he looks like a supporter who has won a competition to play for his favourite team, with such heart and endeavor, charging around the pitch as if he had been informed before kick-off that the world would end if he—and only he—did not give every last drop of sweat. Kane expended so much energy against Arsenal that he was probably powering the floodlights on his own and it would not have been a surprise to discover that he also found a spare moment or two to sneak into the crowd and lead a few chants."

So, yeah, they like the kid a little bit right now.
