Irving’s moves aren’t alone in making this an impressive play for the Cavs’ point guard. Irving does a fantastic job of finding Timofey Mozgov for an easy dunk after breaking down the Lakers’ pick-and-roll defense.
Irving might not be a great defender, but there’s no denying how excellent of a player he is on the offensive end. While Kevin Love has largely struggled during his first year playing alongside LeBron James, Irving has thrived and played a critical role in the Cavs’ recent 12-game winning streak.
Irving’s averaging 21.8 points (46.6 percent shooting from the field, 40.5 percent shooting from three), 5.2 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game this season.
The Cavaliers drafted Irving with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Duke.
