Antonio Cromartie is set to become a free agent this offseason and some Arizona Cardinals teammates believe he is hoping for a return to the New York Jets.
It wasn’t that long ago that the New York Jets were forced to release cornerback Antonio Cromartie to save money. That led to Cromartie joining the Arizona Cardinals for a year, but he still appears to be in a New York state of mind.

That is the impression his teammates are getting, at least.
With Antonio Cromartie set to become a free agent this offseason, there seems to be a growing belief he could find his way back to New York — especially with Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles taking over for Rex Ryan as the Jets head coach following the season.
According to Cromartie’s Arizona teammate, Patrick Peterson, trying to keep Cromartie with the Cardinals could be a tall order.
“I’m definitely trying to keep him here,” Peterson said, via ESPN.com. “It’s going to be tough, especially with Todd being in New York and he loves [New York]. That’s all he talks about is freaking New York. I’m definitely trying to get him to stay and we’ll see what happens.”
With the Jets needs in the secondary and Cromartie’s willingness to return to New York, all of the writing is on the wall for the move to happen. It will likely come down to something Cromartie is all too familiar with when it comes to the Jets: money.
Cromartie says his decision will be made with his families best interest in mind, so we will have to wait and see whether that leads to Cromartie’s family leaving the home in New York they have remained at while his kids go to school and he plays for the Cardinals or perhaps allowing everyone to stay put while he rejoins his family and former teammates in the city he loves.
