With 18 teams taking the hardwood tonight, there will be no shortage of talent available for us to fill our FanDuel lineups. However, before we solidify our winning picks, let’s make sure that our players aren’t planning on missing any playing time. You can find that list HERE. To receive live updates throughout the day about injuries or lineup changes, follow HERE. For now, let’s dive right in to you winning FanDuel NBA Daily Picks and Lineups for February 9.
At the point guard position:
Brandon Knight – 8000
There are 2 reasons to play Brandon Knight tonight. 1) He has been on an absolute tear lately, averaging over 40 FanDuel ppg over his last 3 games. 2) Lately, the Nets rank in the bottom 10 defensively against point guards. In case you want one more reason: the Bucks have won 5 of their last 6, and even with injuries plaguing the roster, they are not showing any signs of letting up.
Ricky Rubio – 6500
He sat out last night, but that was just to rest. There aren’t any perceived setbacks in his recovery. Since he has returned, he is averaging 25 fantasy ppg, while playing an average of 25 minutes per game; adding a few additional minutes each game. He should play 25 -30 minutes tonight, and although the Hawks have looked amazing lately, they allow the 4th most overall points to the point guards over their last 10 games.
Langston Galloway – 5300
4 of his last 6 games he is achieving 5x value, the other 2 however, have been pretty bad. He has the capability to go off for 6-7x, but he is inconsistent. Tonight, he goes up against the Heat; who rank in the bottom 10 defensively against point guards. He is a safer play in GPPs tonight.
Next: Shooting Guards

Giannis Antetokounmpo – 6600
He’s been up here so often lately that I can confidently spell his name without going back to make sure it’s spelled correctly. Tonight, he needs 33 points to obtain that elusive 5x value. He has scored more than that in 4 games straight, including a 50pt outing. In 3 games prior to that, he fell short of that mark by 3-5 points. I’ve played him in each lineup over the Bucks past few games, and have won money each night. Coincidence??? Probably not.
Tyreke Evans – 8300
This guy is just on fire, and as long as Jrue Holiday remains sidelined, I expect him to bring it. He has taken over the play-making responsibilities for the Pelicans, and his numbers reflect how great of a job he has been doing. Utah is right around the middle-of-the-pack against small forwards, but remember, Evans plays a majority of his time at the point, where Utah is in the bottom 10. I expcet another huge game from him.
Next: Small Forwards

Gordon Hayward – 8200
He has quietly been putting up 36-40 Fanduel ppg over his last 5, with averages right around 25-5-5. Tonight, he faces a Pelicans team that is in the bottom half of the league defensively against SF’s. There is nothing flashy about this pick tonight. He is a grinder, and that’s exactly what I expect him to do tonight.
Robert Covington – 6500
Seemingly out of nowhere, he has emerged as one of Philly’s primary options. His minutes are now consistent, his numbers are beginning to become more consistent, and Philly actually hasn’t been doing as terribly as expected as of late, in large part due to Covington. Tonight, he faces the Warriors. You can usually expect a few more points than average against the Warriors simply due to their pace and increased possessions. The downside, the game could be a blowout leading to both sides letting their starters get some rest.
Tobias Harris – 6100
He has achieved value over 5x in 3 straight games; 2 of which scoring around 45 Fanduel ppg. Washington, his opponent tonight, gives up an average of 35.4 fppg to opposing SF, and nearly 40 fppg to PF; 2 positions where Harris tends to split his time. Whatever funk he was in a week or so ago seems to be a thing of the past. So I’m picking him up while his price is low.
Next: Power Forwards

John Henson – 5100
Ok, so my lineup tonight is half Bucks, and perhaps I’m biased being from Mil-town myself, but the numbers don’t lie. Since taking that starting slot 6 games ago, Henson has scored 4x twice, 5x once, and 6x 3 times. For the past 10 games, Brooklyn has been in the bottom 10 defensively against power forwards, and even worse against centers. Be sure to check the injury report on this one. Henson is fine, but if Zaza Pachulia comes back, he could see a minutes reduction.
Ryan Anderson – 5300
When AD has been out this year, Anderson has stepped up scoring big for the Pelicans. Davis went down last night with a shoulder injury, and as of now, is listed as questionable to play. If he doesn’t play, Ryan’s minutes could go up into the mid-30s. Again, check the injury report before locking in this lineup.
Dirk Nowitzki – 6300
Dirk is averaging just over 29 fppg this season. At this price, thats barely under 5x. Tonight, he faces a Blake Griffin-less Clippers team. I start him because who’s going to guard him? Will Barnes move down? If so, Dirk post up fadeaway all day. Will Hawes move up? Then, Dirk runs the perimeter and makes Hawes play catch-up all day. Either way, expect a good game from Dirk tonight.
Next: Centers

Jusuf Nurkic – 5100
He hasn’t been spectacular, but he has been consistent lately. In 5 of his last 7 games, he has gone for over 5x. And, over their last 5 games, the Thunder have been hovering in the bottom 10 defensively against opposing centers. For this price, he is a great play tonight in 50/50 or GPP.
Spencer Hawes – 3500
Blake Griffin is out, which means Hawes in in. He saw 35 minutes of court time yesterday, and registed 17p, 1r, 1b and 2 To. Still, that was enough for 5x. He doesn’t rebound or defend well, but he should get more than 1 reb a night going forward. He does score well, and should continue scoring around 15+ a night. At this price, he is good for any league type tonight.
Nikola Vucevic – 8900
Although he is somewhat inconsistent, Nikola is one of those guys who can go off for 20 and 20 any night. Tonight, he faces the Wizards; a team who gives up the 4th most fppg to opposing Centers. I expect a big game from him, but he is a safer 50/50 play than a GPP.
Next: Tonight's Optimal Lineup
Jan 25, 2015; San Antonio, TX, USA; Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard Khris Middleton (22) dunks the ball past San Antonio Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard (2) during the second half at AT&T Center. The Spurs won 101-95. Mandatory Credit: Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports
And now, the moment where my braniac, know-it-all computer takes into account approximately a billion (ish) stats, and chews them up, and spits out a statistically fool-proof lineup that is projected to score big
Here is that lineup:
Chris Paul | @ DAL | 9400 | |||
John Wall | vs ORL | 9000 | |||
Monta Ellis | vs LAC | 7900 | |||
Jamal Crawford | @ DAL | 5000
Tobias Harris | @ WSH | 6100
DeMarre Carroll | @ MIN | 4900
Chris Bosh | vs NY | 7700 | |||
Dirk Nowitzki | vs LAC | 6300
Spencer Hawes | @ DAL | 3500 |
Be sure, before locking in any lineup you check for injuries! And as always, I will tweet out live updates regarding injuries and lineup changed HERE. I may also drop a link to a Fanduel league, in case you think you can beat my computer. Happy FanDueling everyone.
