Accused murderer Aaron Hernandez’s fiancée expected to testify against him at trial
Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancée of former New England Patriots tight end and accuse murderer Aaron Hernandez, has been granted immunity to testify against him in court.
Jenkins has, up to this point, been believed to be on Hernandez’s side, but now it appears that things have changed.

On Tuesday, Judge E. Susan Garsh endorsed an application to grant immunity to Jenkins in exchange for her testimony for the prosecution, Yahoo!’s Dan Wetzel reports.
Hernandez has been charged with planning and orchestrating the murder of Odin Lloyd, the boyfriend of Shayanna Jenkins’ sister, Shaneah. Lloyd was shot to death on the morning of June 17, 2013, in an empty field in North Attleboro, Mass., near Hernandez’s home.
Jenkins immediately becomes the star witness for the prosecution.
To be clear, the immunity deal does not necessarily mean that Jenkins will testify, only that if she does, she will be immune from any blame or consequences for whatever her testimony reveals.
Previous reports have linked Shayanna Jenkins to the incident, with her sister alleging that Shayanna was acting “secretive” and “not normal” that day.
Shayanna was spotted carrying something “rigid” in a black trash bag, and asked to borrow her sister’s car shortly afterward.
When she returned, she no longer had the item.
The prosecution theorized from this story that Shayanna Jenkins disposed of the murder weapon, but up until now the evidence has been entirely circumstantial. But if Jenkins’ testimony corroborates this story, it will completely swing the trial.
Hernandez and Shayanna Jenkins, 25, had dated on and off since attending high school together in Bristol, Conn. They moved in together and eventually had a daughter, who is now two years old. This is the first indication that Jenkins would go against Hernandez in court, as she has been sitting with his family at the trial and has not spoken a word against him, or revealed anything about the incident.
The day and time of Jenkins’ testimony is still unknown.
