Lew Dunlap, an 88-year-old Colorado Rockies fantasy camp participant, showed he won’t take any guff from those 40- and 50-year-old whippersnappers.

It’s a scene that plays itself out several times a summer all over baseball—at nearly every level.

The pitch comes in up around the dome. The batter takes a few menacing steps toward the mound to send the message to the guy throwing the ball, “Better watch that s**t or I’m comin’ for ya.”

You just don’t expect the guy sending the message to be old enough to have played with Hall of Famers Duke Snider or Robin Roberts.

But there was Lew Dunlap at the Colorado Rockies fantasy camp in Scottsdale, Ariz.

A pitch came in a little bit high and tight for ball four and before he headed to first, Lew made sure to let the pitcher know that brushing back a guy old enough to be everyone’s granddaddy just ain’t cool.

The move got enough attention that Kevin Millar and Chris Rose of MLB Network’s Intentional Talk got in on the action, with Millar coining the phrase that became a hashtag … #YoureMyBoyLew.

But after his side won the championship of the camp, Dunlap was right there to take a celebratory swig out of the trophy and cut loose with his teammates.

That’s where I’d like to be in about 50 (OK, OK, 40) years … kickin’ it old school, like Lew Dunlap.
