Texans star J.J. Watt will be a guest star on the hit Fox comedy

How do you follow up having Prince on your show? Only with the baddest man alive.

That’s right: the man, the myth, the legend J.J. Watt will reportedly be a guest star on New Girl, the Fox comedy.

Fox Sports Twitter shared the news:

No information was given on what Watt’s role will be on the show, or whether he’ll be playing himself or a character (presumably himself; you don’t land J.J. Watt on your show to ask him to play someone else). Presumably, unlike his Verizon ad, he won’t have to wear his jersey on the show.

The episode starring Watt, who was recently named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year, is slated to run sometime in March, though exact details were not given.

Watt is the latest in a long line of guest stars on New Girl, a list that includes Lizzy Caplan, Jessia Biel, Brooklyn Decker, Rob Reiner, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Most impressively so far, they landed Prince for last year’s episode following Super Bowl 48 (Roman numerals are for suckas). Depending on who you ask, getting Watt out of the solitude of his cabin and onto the show may be a more impressive coup.

The five time Emmy-nominated New Girl is in its fourth season (side note: should it have to change its name? Can Deschanel’s character really be the “new girl” if the show’s in its fourth season?). Anyway, it’s a criticaly acclaimed and very funny show that many feel is one of the best currently on television.

It was recently announced that Damon Wayans Jr., who plays Coach on the show, will be leaving, so maybe Watt is the new Coach? Anyone else hoping for a scenario in which Wayans leaves, then Watt takes his place as Coach but they act like it’s the same guy? … Just me? Suit yourselves, I guess.
