Basketball legend Karl Malone talked about coming out of retirement for a run in WWE. His first choice for an opponent: WWE champion Brock Lesnar.
Karl Malone is joking, right?
Right?
Well, at least we hope so.
The basketball legend appeared on America’s Pregame on Fox Sports 1 and began talking of a possible comeback, although “The Mailman” had little interest in returning to the game where he retired as the second-leading scorer in NBA history. No, Malone wants to make his athletic revival in WWE, where he wants to climb straight to the top:
So….he wants the reigning WWE champion, The Beast Incarnate himself.

At 51, the 6’9 Malone still looks like he’s in pretty good shape, yet he’s barking up the wrong tree when it comes to Lesnar, who is currently sitting back while awaiting the winner of the Daniel Bryan-Roman Reigns match at the Fastlane pay-per-view. At the very least, it will be interesting to see if Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, will respond to the challenge.
Few people would be shocked if the eternally-spinning wheels in Vince McMahon’s head isn’t thinking how to spin this into a win-win opportunity for both WWE and Malone, more so considering that the latter is no stranger to the squared circle.

The previous video was part of the go-home show prior to WCW’s 1998 Bash at the Beach, where Malone and Diamond Dallas Page faced off against Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman. Anyone who remembered the actual match will be quick to tell you that it was 25-30 minutes of their lives they’d love to have back.
In all probability, Malone was just being in the moment, yet if there is some smoke there…..
