The formerKnicks player is clearly not a fan of the team’s owner

In a recent rant, former New York Knicks forward Charles Oakley called team owner James Dolan a “motherf–cker” and “a bad guy.”

Oakley went on WFAN’s “Boomer and Carton” show to talk about his feud with Dolan, which according to him has been largely one-sided up to this point.

Dolan, says Oakley, has ignored his attempts to meet with him, and will not allow him Knicks tickets, and according to Oakley, who spent 10 of his 19 years in the NBA with New York, it’s all because of a 15-year-old grudge.

“[Dolan] said I said something in the paper 15 years ago,” Oakley said on the show. “I even asked the commissioner to set up a meeting. I said we’ll get all the articles. I said, ‘What have I said?’ … I’ll come on the air and clear it up.”

Despite Oakley’s efforts, he says, Dolan has refused to meet with him. Oakley fired back at the Knicks owner on the show.

“As hard as I played for that motherf—-r, and he don’t want to talk with me?” Oakley said.

“Everybody in New York liked me except this one guy. Why is this?” he continued. “Everywhere I talk to people – ‘Why aren’t you working with the Knicks?’ I said I try to. They said, ‘What, is it Dolan?’ I talked to maybe a million people. He’s a bad guy.”

We have yet to hear Dolan’s side of the story, but it doesn’t look great for him from what we know. Oakley isn’t exactly a Hall of Famer, but he was a very good player and was well-liked by Knicks fans, so it doesn’t look great that Dolan’s treating him this way, especially if the reasoning is as petty as Oakley believes.

This is not the first time Dolan’s been in the news for something like this–not even the first time this week. Earlier this week, Dolan blasted a longtime fan in an email, telling him to go root for the Nets.

Dolan is about as ridiculous an owner as one might expect a team called the “Knickerbockers” to have, except that the team is a national brand and Dolan is making a mockery out of them. The fans and players deserve better… even if it is kind of fun for the rest of us when the Knicks are a joke.

In any case, Dolan seems to have his sights set on the metaphorical “worst sport owner” championship belt. Your move, Dan Snyder.
