Gatorade has brought back the ‘Be Like Mike’ advertisement (Video)
Gatorade is celebrating their 50th anniversary with a digitally remastered version of their 1990s advertising spot featuring Michael Jordan.
In order to celebrate their 50th Anniversary, it appears that Gatorade will be bringing back the “Be Like Mike” advertising campaign. Gatorade digitally remastered the 1992 commercial featuring Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

It may look crisp, but you cannot remove the 90s stink of pastel tank tops with a digital retouch.
Of course, Gatorade may not want to remove the stink. The commercial will likely send thousands of folks who grew up in the 90s through such a nostalgia trip that they will find themselves pining for their old Starter jackets and a copy of Space Jam.
It’s a refreshing change of pace for those looking to Jordan as an advertising spokesman. Older commercials maintained a sort of whimsy, like this spot with Jordan playing against Larry Bird for a McDonald’s Big Mac…
… or having a genie played by Little Richard grant Spike Lee his one wish.
Current television spots tend to focus on his wordless disgust at fools who don’t wear Hanes undershirts, an emotion he was able to practice on Kwame Brown while he was on the Washington Wizards. They’re tagless, guys.
Regardless of whether or not you grew up to commercials like the Gatorade spot, that song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the week.
