Reggie Evans has been around the NBA for a long time, but the Sacramento Kings reserve was taken aback by the age of the Greek Freak, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Reggie Evans of the Sacramento Kings is almost 35 years old and has bounced around the NBA for 13 seasons, so he’s seen a lot of phenoms come and go.

But during Wednesday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Evans seemed legitimately surprised when he was told that the Bucks’ emerging star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, isn’t yet old enough to buy a brew legally in Beer City.

Antetokounmpo is the reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 19.5 points, 11 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 blocks in 37.2 minutes per game in four games last week, shooting 63.3 percent in the process.

The Greek Freak, as he is nicknamed, helped Milwaukee to a 3-1 week and has been a big part of the resurgence of the Bucks this season.

Now in his second season, Antetokounmpo is averaging 12 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a block in 29.6 minutes a game on .507/.167/.733 shooting.

The 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft from Greece, he was considered a project, but his development has come much faster than even the most optimistic observers had hoped.

He’ll have a busy All-Star weekend in New York—competing in the Rising Stars Challenge Friday night for the World team and in the Slam Dunk Contest on All-Star Saturday Night.
