Rob Gronkowski playing ice dodgeball at Minor League hockey game
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski plays ice dodgeball at Minor League hockey game, and actually loses.
That’s right, ice dodgeball. It’s just like regular dodgeball, except played on an ice surface. Just add skates and we might have ourselves a new Olympic sport folks.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski continued his Super Bowl victory lap with a stop in Florida, when he attended a Florida Everblades minor league hockey game. Five days after attending an NHL game between the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders to drop spike the puck for a ceremonial opening faceoff, he attended an ECHL game to play ice dodgeball.
Gronk is actually pretty terrible at ice dodgeball. His opponents had the perfect game plan against him though. They know it’s Gronk, so it’s in his nature to catch every ball thrown his way. So, they focused on throwing balls in his direction, but not right at him so they would be more difficult to catch, Gronk would try to catch the balls and but mishandle them, eliminating him from the game.
It worked to perfection.
You would think with his hands being able to palm probably three of those balls at once, and, you know, being an NFL tight end, he would catch these balls with ease. Instead, he clearly had a hard time catching them.
I’m waiting for the next stop on the Gronk victory tour. Maybe he’ll go to a rodeo next and try to ride the bull.
