New Oakland Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio is hoping that he can not only improve the team’s roster, but facilities as well.

Jack Del Rio is the new leading man in the Oakland Raiders organization.

Del Rio takes over a team that has been a perennial bottom-feeder in the AFC West, and one that has a roster full of unproven youngsters and over the hill veterans. One bright spot is under center, where quarterback Derek Carr showed some signs of promise during his rookie season, but there is a lot of work to do elsewhere.

Not only does Jack Del Rio have plenty of work to do with the Oakland Raiders roster, but their facilities could use a facelift as well.

According to Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com, Del Rio has plans to improve the team’s current training facility in Alameda in hopes of getting the unit up to the standards of the rest of the league.

“It was kind of like how I felt about taking the job,” Del Rio said. “I knew there was work to be done, and I’m excited about having the opportunity to mold this place and make an impact. We’ve got some plans that you’ll see unfold with the weight room and the fields that the players are going to be very excited about when they get back.

“We want to make sure that everything we’re doing every day gives us an opportunity to win our division and be in position to win championships.”

You know what they say: If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good.

That chain reaction can all start in the weight room and training facilities which could be making an improvement from prehistoric period to modern day under Del Rio.
