Rudy Gobert got into the action early Friday night during the NBA Rising Stars Challenge
Under the new USA vs the World format, the NBA Rising Stars Challenge is underway on Friday night, and already we’re seeing all the evidence that we need that this is just an exhibition. Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz showed that very early on in this one.
Now one thing that we know about exhibitions and All-Star games is that defense is pretty much optional. No one really wants to go out of their way to play D, and you can see that first hand in the video below.
Watch as Gobert takes the ball from coast to coast, basically uncontested, and finishes everything off with the dunk.
Yeah, that is not how you’re taught to play defense by any stretch of the imagination, but again, that’s what these exhibitions are all about.
Now if Gobert can pull this off against a Western Conference opponent during the season, then we’re talking.
