NBA rumors have been flying with the trade deadline coming up on February 19th, and the Miami Heat are interested in Goran Dragic and Reggie Jackson.

The Miami Heat have spent this season learning how to play without LeBron James after he left to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers this past offseason, and it hasn’t been easy. At this point in the season, they are 22-30 on the season which fortunately is good enough for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture at the moment.

That being said, they are being very active on the trade market and are working to find a way to acquire some help. According to a report from the Miami Herald, the Heat are interested in both Goran Dragic and Reggie Jackson. Whether they try to acquire one of them before the February 19th trade deadline or wait until the offseason, they are still interested.

Both players would be major upgrades at the point guard position for the Heat, and would help take them into more serious contention in the East.

Dragic is one of the hottest names in NBA trade talks right now, and the Phoenix Suns reportedly want a first-round pick in return for him. The Heat would likely be more than happy to trade a first-round pick for Dragic, but it would also depend on what else they need to give up. So far this season, Dragic has averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game.

Jackson on the other hand has also played a great season this year for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has had to step up at times with the injury issues that the Thunder have had, and has risen to the challenge. His averages are 12.8 points, 4.2 assist, and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Obviously both of these players are very similar as far as the numbers that they bring to the court. They are both very exciting players on the offensive end of the court as well.

Miami does have some assets that they could move for one of these two players. If they are serious about contending for a playoff spot, and they need to make a move prior to the deadline. Either point guard would be exactly what they have yearning to acquire all year-long.

Expect more rumors to come out over the next six days involving the Heat, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make a serious run at one of these two players before next Thursday.
