We could see Paul George back in the NBA this season and we could be seeing it rather soon

When Indiana Pacers forward Paul George suffered that gruesome leg injury last summer while playing for Team USA, it was considered all but a foregone conclusion that he would not be stepping onto a court this season in the NBA. Well we’ve been hearing whispers as of late that George could be ready for a return before the season is over, and we might be seeing it sooner rather than later.

In speaking to Yahoo Sports recently, George noted that he’s currently eyeing a mid-March return to the Pacers, possibly when they take on the Boston Celtics.

This has to be music to Pacers fans’ ears, as in an inconsistent Eastern Conference, Indiana isn’t out of the playoff hunt completely, and George could be the x-factor for this squad down the stretch, if he is indeed completely healthy after rehabbing the broken leg.

At 21-33 on the season, the Pacers sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings, so again, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to think that this team can’t make a run for that eight spot down the stretch, especially if George comes back at full speed.

Whether or not he’s at full speed, we don’t know the answer to that yet. However, according to George, we’re going to find out right before St. Patrick’s Day hits.
