Peyton Manning expected to make decision next week
By Evan Massey
Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is expected to make a decision on whether or not he will play in 2015 next week.
Peyton Manning is coming off of yet another disappointing playoff loss, this time against his former team. He had to play through a quad injury, and at the age of 38 there are rumors swirling around about whether he will retire or come back for another season in 2015.

At this point in time, he is expected to make a return for at least one more season. He has met with the Denver Broncos, and reports have stated that he has discussed a contract restructure to free up more money for the Broncos. That being said, it isn’t a done deal one way or the other.
According to a report from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, Manning is expected to make a decision on whether or not he will return for the 2015 season some time next week.
“I would be surprised if we don’t have some type of word next week some time,” Mortensen said, via Pro Football Talk. “That’s when I would expect that we would have word, officially, that Peyton is going to play football.”
It is going to be a very sad day whenever Manning decides to call it a career. He is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game, but unfortunately has struggled to find considerable postseason success to match the pantheon of records he has set. That being said, he is still a very entertaining quarterback to watch and won’t ever be forgotten.
During the 2014 regular season, Manning ended up throwing for 4,727 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. Those numbers show just how valuable Manning was last year, even though age is beginning to catch up to him a bit.
John Elway and the Broncos would likely be more than happy to welcome Manning back for another season. They have a talented backup in Brock Osweiler, but Manning would give them the best chance to win next season. Manning will likely continue playing until he can’t play up to his own standards, and he was still an elite quarterback last year.
Obviously there is a lot of suspense surrounding the Broncos’ organization. If Manning leaves, then there is a huge need for a quarterback and their entire offseason changes unless they are sold on Osweiler being a legitimate starter. They have put together a very expensive roster to compete for Super Bowl wins, and Manning was an integral piece to the team that they put together.
Expect to hear more information on Manning over the next few days. News hasn’t stopped coming out since the season ended, and it shouldn’t be expected to stop now.
