Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice hopes to land with another team in 2015, so he has issued an statement apologizing for his ‘horrible mistake’
Ray Rice wants the NFL, football fans and everyone who is willing to listen that he is a changed man. A man who is begging for forgiveness because of an “awful” mistake he made and one who is hoping his mistake can be used as a learning experience for others.

It was almost exactly one year ago today, Feb. 15, 2014, that Ray Rice struck his then fiancee, Janay Palmer, in the elevator of an Atlantic City hotel.
The incident was caught on camera and ultimately led to Rice being released by the Ravens and suspended for the remainder of the year by the NFL. Of course, it wasn’t until after TMZ released the footage of Ray Rice striking his fiancee that the harsh punishment came down.
The incident also showed where the NFL needed to improve regarding how seriously they take domestic violence. It put NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who originally handed down an underwhelming two-game suspension, on the hot seat and forced him to find a way to improve the league’s standards.
Now, here we are almost one year from the moment that began the entire saga, and Ray Rice has released a statement.
Rice’s statement read:
"“This is not a farewell or goodbye. The last seven years that my family and I have spent in Baltimore have by far been the best of our lives. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown my family and I throughout my football career. We’ll always be grateful for the love we’ve received from all of our fans and supporters, and for winning a Super Bowl.“To all the kids who looked up to me, I’m truly sorry for letting you down, but I hope it’s helped you learn that one bad decision can turn your dream into a nightmare. There is no excuse for domestic violence, and I apologize for the horrible mistake I made. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me, and I hope to make a positive difference in people’s lives by raising awareness of this issue. Thank you, Baltimore Ravens, for all you have done for my family and I.“I’m very grateful to Steve Bisciotti, Ozzie Newsome, John Harbaugh, and everyone at 1 Winning Drive. I love you all very much, and I’ll always be proud to say I played for the Baltimore Ravens. Thank you.”"
Ray Rice has remained hopeful he will sign with a team in 2015, but as of yet, no one has come calling.
