Damian Lillard throws down incredible freestyle rap
Damian Lillard joined Sway and company to talk about the NBA All-Star break. What Sway didn’t know was that Lillard had a sick freestyle prepared that blew the host away
Damian Lillard has been killing it on the court, putting up huge numbers for the Portland Trailblazers all season. Lillard was selected to be a part of the NBA All-Star team for the first time in his career. XM Radio show host Sway Calloway had Lillard on his morning show “Sway In The Morning” to chat about the NBA All-Star game.
Typically, Sway features up-and-coming hip-hop or pop artists for interviews and a little fun. Every now and then he will put his guests on the spot and ask for a little freestyle rap for his listeners. When Lilliard was asked what he could do on the mic, he did not back down from the challenge.

Portland’s All-Star point guard sounds just about as comfortable rapping as he is shooting. But is he the best rapper in the NBA? We all know Shaquielle O’Neal, Allen Iverson, and Metta World Peace have tried their hand in the music industry. None of their rap careers really took off.
However, the Charlotte Hornets’ star guard, Lance Stephenson, recently published a little freestyle of his own. He is no Kanye, but he certainly is better than Shaq, AI, or World Peace.
It’s clear Stephenson has a little game on the mic, just like Lillard showed us on Sway’s show. Even though the two are rivals on the court, a collaboration between the two in the studio might not sound half bad.
