Forbes: WWE Network is the ‘wave of the future’

Despite all the heavy criticism over the past year, there are still some prominent people that believe in the success of the WWE Network

WWE Network is almost one year old now, and it has been a rocky journey for this Vince McMahon project to say the least. While they have finally hit the one-million subscriber mark, they didn’t hit it in nearly the time frame that they had thought they would and there have been multiple reports of the company losing money at times because of the venture.

However, as most point out, it is still early in this venture and the window is still wide open for this to be one of the most successful projects that Vince McMahon has ever come up with. Some of the people at Forbes Magazine also believe that this window is wide open as well.

Forbes has been all over the WWE Network since day one, and in their most recent piece, they went out of their way to throw a lot of praise, including calling WWE Network “the wave of the future.”

"Give McMahon credit for having the guts to go against conventional wisdom and critics who wanted WWE to stick exclusively with its pay-per-view model. McMahon has looked Joseph Schumpeter‘s creative destruction theory in the eye and smiled right back. It takes you know what to take a profitable business model and rip it apart, but that is exactly what McMahon has done.Over-the-top is what will drive the WWE Network’s growth and is the wave of the future."

Again, people tend to forget how young this whole process is right now. People also forget how long it took a streaming service like Netflix to get off the ground running and become the juggernaut that it is today.
