According to a report from Gareth Davies of the Telegraph, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have agreed to a blockbuster deal. Davies reports the deal is worth $250 million.
“Manny has 100 percent signed his side of the deal,” the source told the Telegraph Sport. “It is now over to Mayweather to close the deal and announce the fight.”
With Pacquiao having completed the contract and Mayweather finishing off his side of the deal, an announcement is expected to be coming in the coming days. There are even some reports that the fight could be announced prior to tip-off of the 2015 NBA All-Star Game, after Mayweather was spotted in New York City on Friday.
By all indications, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao would take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 2.
Of course, no date is finalized, and there are believed to be two additional dates still on the table.
For now, we will have to wait for the announcement to become official, but this is the closest we have come to firm news of the bout happening. Now, we can start to feel giddy.
