The NBA Slam Dunk Contest is tonight, and it’s looking like an event that may finally save itself from the woes it has encountered in the past.


The NBA All-Star Game is the reason for this weekend of festivities, the crown jewel of NBA All-Star Weekend is and has been the slam dunk contest on Saturday night.

Some have questioned the validity of the Slam Dunk contest since it only includes young players on the rise and not superstar titans of the sport. But that’s no reason to ignore the event this year as there is a lot of rising talent to watch who could develop into the next big stars of the NBA.

LaVine is the only rookie in the slam dunk contest but he’s joined by fellow rising stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Victor Oladipo as well as Mason Plumlee. The Greek Freak is a dark horse to win the dunk contest but it’s a true mystery as to who will walk away a champ.
