Burton, a sophomore from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, began the season with Marquette.
He averaged 6.4 points (47.2 percent shooting from the field, 40,0 percent shooting from three), 1.4 rebounds, .3 assists, .4 blocks and 1.3 steals in eight games with the Golden Eagles before deciding to transfer to Iowa State.
Burton will be eligible to play following the first semester next season.
For now, Burton will just have to show off his dunking talents in practice, which surely will excite the Iowa State faithful for what’s to come next season and beyond.
Iowa State is 18-6 (8-4 in the Big 12) this season and currently the No. 14 ranked team in the country.
The Cyclones will take on the No. 21 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys on Wednesday night.
