Julius Thomas could be searching for a new team this offseason, and the Jacksonville Jaguars could end up being a perfect fit for the star tight end.
The Denver Broncos have had one of the most dominant offenses in the NFL over the past couple of seasons with Peyton Manning leading the way. He has been given quite a few weapons to work with, and one of those weapons is tight end Julius Thomas.

Manning may not end up coming back next season, but at this point it appears that he is likely to return. That cannot be said for Thomas, who appears likely to end up on the open free agent market. Denver cannot afford to bring both him and Demaryius Thomas back this offseason, which means that Julius is likely the odd man out.
Assuming he does hit the free agent market, a report from Jacksonville.com stated that he would be a perfect fit with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It would certainly be a major upgrade to the Jaguars’ offense, and would give Blake Bortles a big target to work with. Many believe that Thomas has had a successful past couple of seasons in large part to playing alongside Manning, but that isn’t even close to being the only reasons.
His size and athleticism make him a very difficult matchup for any opposing defender. Thomas caught 43 passes for 489 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2014 season. The year before that in 2013, he caught 65 passes for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Thomas is only 26 years old, which gives him plenty of time to play at the high level that he has been playing at. He will be a very expensive free agency signing, but his production will make anyone that pays the price very happy with their decision.
Needless to say, this is a very exciting possibility for the Jaguars. They have potential to get back into postseason contention in the near future, but need to bring in another playmaker or two. Thomas would fit that bill and would be a huge step in the right direction for the Jaguars’ franchise.
