Ric Flair on why WWE doesn’t use him: I’m a tough act to follow

Ric Flair has a pretty interesting reason as to why WWE doesn’t use him a little bit more on television

For the better part of the last year or so there have been a lot of rumors that WWE could be bringing Ric Flair back on a regular basis. For the most part, the talk has surrounded Flair being used as a manager for anyone from Dolph Ziggler to The Miz. Well as we know, nothing has really ever come to fruition in that regard and Flair has only been seen on a sporadic basis.

So, with that being said, why is that? Well we don’t officially know the WWE’s reasoning for this, however we now have some insight from the “Nature Boy” himself as to why he’s not on our TVs each and every single week.

In an interview with the Burton Mail, Flair was asked why he’s not around as much and, quite frankly, he still sees himself as a tough act to follow.

“I appear on WWE programming about eight or nine times a year now,” Flair said. “I think I could offer more and I think the management would like to use me more but it is about the offers that have to follow me that they have to consider as well. I can be a very tough act to follow.

“I can still be active and will be for many more years to come, but they also have to take into account the other superstars at the same time.”

We all love Ric Flair, for the most part. Sure, are there some people that dislike him? Of course, but at this stage of his life Flair is a beloved figure in the wrestling industry for all that he has contributed.

But, what Flair is not these days is a tough act to follow. Is he entertaining when he’s out there sometimes? Of course he is, but he’s not this unstoppable entertainment force that he once was.

Can’t knock the guy’s confidence, though.
