First, the team suffered a tough 68-55 loss to USC, in a game the Beavers entered the break with a lead and we’re outscored 42-27 in the second half.
Then, the team’s plane leaving LAX was forced to return to the gate because a scorpion on board bit a woman. No, we’re not joking.
The scorpion found its way on the plane via a carry-on bag of a passenger who had been to Mexico, according to the Oregonian.
Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle was sitting two rows behind the passenger who was stung. He spoke to ESPN about the incident, saying the woman handled the sting well.
"“The plane was coming from Mexico before us, and [the scorpion] was on the plane,” Tinkle said. “The woman was a real champ. She acted like it was a mosquito bite. They got it off her but the needle was stuck.”"

I swear I just heard someone say "Don't worry Tinkle is taking care of it." So apparently the legend grows.

The Oregonian is also reporting that the scorpion was first spotted on a male passenger.
Guy saw scorpion on his shoulder flicked it off and it landed on lady and stung her. Chivalry is dead.

The condition of the woman stung is not yet known.
The flight was delayed a half-hour, yet ultimately landed at PDX with further more issues.
Just landed safely at PDX. Hope the woman who was stung by the scorpion is okay. Great to be back in the Beaver State. #gobeavs
