Titans to stick with Zach Mettenberger as quarterback of the future
By Ryan Ratty
The Tennessee Titans will be sticking with Zach Mettenberger at quarterback, which might be a giant mistake.
Zach Mettenberger was given the chance to prove his worth in 2014 and ultimately, the biggest news he made was the selfie he took before his first professional start.

In six and a half games at quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, Mettenberger did not win one football game. Granted, the Titans were horrible in all three phases of the game in 2014, something has to be said about Mettenberger and how he was unable to win just one game, despite being within reach for a victory in three games.
According to CBSSports.com, the Titans are unlikely to select a franchise quarterback with the 2nd pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, even though it is by far not the right decision. Instead of being given the chance to draft one of the last two Heisman winners, the Titans plan to stick with Mettenberger, even though he really doesn’t show any potential to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. Tennessee’s general manager Ruston Webster talked about Mettenberger and the prospects of him as the starter in 2015.
"“We like Zach, and I think Zach has the tools to play and start in the league,” said Titans general manager Ruston Webster."
While it does sound like the Titans are fully committed to Mettenberger, it should also be said that Webster would go on to say that the Titans would do their due diligence at the combine by keeping tabs on the quarterbacks. However, it seems pretty clear that the Titans are intent on staying with Mettenberger and not selecting either Marcus Mariota or Jameis Winston.
Even though Mariota and Winston aren’t sure-fire picks like Andrew Luck was in 2012, the fact of the matter is that the Titans have failed as a franchise since 2008 and their fans are getting more and more upset by the year. Knowing that, the Titans have to inject some type of energy into their franchise and they need to give their fans something to be excited about. An intriguing prospect like Mariota or Winston would do that.
However, with the Titans likely sticking with Mettenberger and not taking one of the two quarterbacks, they will more than likely reset their franchise back for the foreseeable future.
