Other Options

Ubaldo Jimenez: Jimenez is a huge wild card going into the season.  Baltimore paid big money last season for the free agent, but he fell apart due to lack of control and was demoted to the bullpen.  He could earn his way back to the rotation with a strong Spring and has been a true fantasy factor and Cy Young candidate in the past, so watch how the situation shakes out to see what he can do this spring.  The fact that their big offseason pickup is on the “other options” list shows both how strong the O’s top five options are and how much of a letdown Ubaldo was last year.

Dylan Bundy: The O’s top prospect at this point is Dylan Bundy who was the fourth pick overall four years ago in the draft.  He made it to the Majors in September of 2012, but he was setback by Tommy John surgery in June of 2013.  He should be fully recovered this season and ready to contribute.  He may start the season in the minors, but at some point this year he’ll most likely join the Baltimore rotation and will be a good fantasy short-term option when he does.
