Mike Mayock believes that Jameis Winston is the best fit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the top overall pick
Former Florida State quarterback and Heisman winner Jameis Winston is by far the most polarizing figure in the 2015 NFL Draft class. With his on-field accomplishments and skill set, Winston would normally be seen as a lock to be the No. 1 overall pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this spring, however his off-the-field transgressions have cast a dark shadow over him in the eyes of some.
Certainly the hot topic is whether or not the Bucs will choose to go with Winston when they are called upon to make their pick at the Draft, and on Monday, NFL Network Draft analyst Mike Mayock weighed in with his opinion on the maligned figure that is Jameis Winston.
Mayock feels that the Buccaneers will indeed go with a quarterback with the top overall selection and Winston is the best fit for them in the end.
Mayock says he feels Bucs will go with a QB, thinks Winston is a better fit for them.

Furthermore, Mayock was asked the popular question of whether or not Winston could be the face of an NFL franchise and he had this to offer up in regards to that issue.
Mayock on Jameis: “Can he be the face of the franchise? He was face of the FSU franchise and that didn’t stop him making bad decisions.”

It’s quite obvious that the Buccaneers are not only staying in that top spot, but they’ll be going with a signal caller with the pick. Their recent release of Josh McCown this past week was a pretty clear signal of their intentions.
With that being said, their decision will ultimately come down to either Winston or Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, who has seen a steady drop on a lot of draft boards in recent weeks since the college football season came to a close.
