Sharks’ Brent Burns gives back to military family (Video)
The San Jose Sharks’ defenseman has a big heart for those that have served
One of the best things about sports is when players give back to charities and fans. San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns is no different. As part of EPIX’s show “Road to the NHL Stadium Series,” Burns was followed around by cameras as the Sharks prepare for their upcoming outdoor game against the Los Angeles Kings in Santa Clara, California.

As part of preview clip from Tuesday night’s new episode, Burns gives back to a military family who attends their game.
Burns talks with a former military veteran in a wheelchair who is an avid hockey fan about preference of hockey sticks. Burns also has the family stay in his private suite for the game.
Burns even gives the veteran his hockey stick while taking photos with the family.
Burns is a big supporter of giving back to military families and you can see he has a genuine interest in getting involved and helping out.
He is a supporter of Defending the Blue Line, which is a charity that gives back to military families by helping with costs of going to a hockey game and giving the families experiences others can’t have.
Credit to Burns and the Sharks for giving one fan a memory he won’t forget.
