Indianapolis Colts among top suitors to sign Frank Gore?
By Evan Massey
The Indianapolis Colts appear to be the favorites to sign free agent running back Frank Gore at this point in time.
Frank Gore isn’t expected to return to the San Francisco 49ers this offseason and it appears that the Indianapolis Colts are the favorites to sign him at this point in time, according to Bleacher Report.

Needless to say, signing Gore would be a huge pickup for the Colts. Andrew Luck already led the Colts to being the top passing offense in the NFL last year, but Gore would be a major upgrade on the ground and would make Luck’s job much easier. The Colts haven’t had a solid running game since back when Edgerrin James was in town, and it is time that Ryan Grigson finds a legitimate running game to help Luck out.
At 31 years old, Gore still has a few good years of football left in him. It will be interesting to see what type of contract he is searching for, but it is pretty clear that he wants to compete on a championship contender while still being a starter. The Colts could offer him both of those things, and that is what makes them a better option than many of the other potential suitors.
All things considered though, this deal is far from being done.
Gore is going to likely get interest from plenty of other teams, even if the Colts might seem to be his best bet if a championship means a lot to him. It will be a sad day for 49ers fans to watch him leave, but it isn’t too surprising considering all of the changes they are making.
