NBA Rumors: Draymond Green wants to play for Detroit Pistons
By Josh Hill
The NBA trade deadline is this week, but there are already rumors about what could happen this summer starting to pop up.
The Golden State Warriors are one of the frontrunners at the moment to win the NBA Finals this year, but like all good things their ride will come to an end. It may not come to an end right away, but there will be pieces of this potential championship team that are picked away by other teams in the NBA looking for a boost.

That could end up being the case for the future of Draymond Green and the pocketbooks getting dusted off right now in Detroit.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, when Draymond Green hits restricted free agency this summer, he is going to pursue an offer sheet with the Detroit Pistons.
"Golden State’s Draymond Green has a significant interest with pursuing an offer sheet with his hometown Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo Sports."
This makes a load of sense for both the Pistons and for Green. Not only is Detroit in need of a player like Green to help lock down their defense and add some flare, but it word be a home coming of sorts for the forward. Drayman Green played his not so distant years of college basketball at Michigan State, and returning home to play for the Pistons seems to be a win for all involved.
Of course, the x-factor here are the Golden State Warriors. They’ll be in a bind for cash when it comes to bringing in talent and sacrificing Green could be what needs to happen. That could certainly be the case if the Pistons offer Green a higher contract than the Warriors are comfortable paying.
Green has been a stud for the Warriors over the years but he’s a star in the making that the Dubs just can’t afford. There’s a price that the Warriors will pay to keep him but the chances are Detroit knows the number and will happily go higher.
