The NBA Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching but the Milwaukee Bucks will not be acquiring Reggie Jackson unless the price goes down from Oklahoma City.

With the NBA trade deadline set to pass in the next 24 hours, the deals and offers are going to start flying all over the place with teams leaping up and pulling back.

The Milwaukee Bucks are in a position where they have an open roster spot to fill after buying out Larry Sanders and they have a need for a young backcourt star to build around. That seems to be everything the Reggie Jackson represents, but there won’t be a deal for the guard unless the asking price goes down.

As it stands now, the Thunder wants a first-round pick back for Jackson and that’s just the minimum to get into the conversation. Giving up a first-round pick to the Thunder is a non-starter for the Bucks and Jackson isn’t in their future unless that changes on the part of the Thunder.

According to Bucks beat writer Gery Woefel from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the pursuit of Reggie Jackson does not involve the Bucks because the asking price is way too high.

There’s still a chance that the Bucks can land Reggie Jackson, but that asking price is a non-starter for the front office. It would be nice if Jackson can be landed but he’s still a free agent at the end of the season and there’s no guarantee that he would re-sign in Milwaukee.

Giving up a first-round pick for that sort of uncertainty isn’t something a young team like the Bucks can afford to do, and all talk of them getting involved in trade talks can be considered bogus until that trade offer is lowered by Oklahoma City.
