10 workout warriors who will shine at the 2015 NFL Combine
By R. Phillips
T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh
Clemmings is a bit of a late-bloomer and started his college career on defense before moving to offensive tackle. If all goes well in Indianapolis, Clemmings could wind up being the first tackle off the board at the draft. He looks the part but will have to prove himself this week. Based on what I have seen, I expect him to show well.
Clemmings is a 6-foot-5, 309-pound monster with excellent feet, who can run down-field like a tight end. He is quick, plays fast and is strong enough to create excellent leverage in pass protection. Clemmings was a high school basketball player and that shows in the way he moves around the football field. His only real issues come from the fact that he’s still incredibly raw at the position.
In Indianapolis this week, Clemmings is likely to test as the best offensive lineman when you compare his size to the numbers he puts up in the agility drills. He may be a few years away from being a truly outstanding offensive lineman, but he should be one of this year’s top combine performers.
