The Miami Heat have heard the Phoenix Suns cries for a decent offer in exchange for Goran Dragic and has offered up the Godfather proposal as a last resort.

Goran Dragic appears as though he’s going to be traded before the NBA trade deadline passes at 3pm ET, but the question is who will offer the Suns the package they desire?

More from Miami Heat

Phoenix was holding Dragic for ransom this week until he machine gunned those negotiations by saying he wasn’t going to re-sign with the Suns this summer no matter what happens. This forced the Suns hand and has put them in a situation where they need to find the best bottom of the barrel offer for Dragic.

According to Miami Heat beat writer Ira Winderman, Pat Riley is trying to give the Suns an offer they an’t refuse in putting Norris Cole, Josh McRoberts, Chris Andersen and two first round picks into the pot to stir.

Of course, this is an expansion on reports that the Heat first offered up two late first-round picks for Dragic. Those picks are a crapshoot at best, but things started to get interesting when Norris Cole entered the equation.

Add to that the fact that Chris ‘Birdman’ Andersen and Josh McRoberts are int he mix and we have something really cooking in Miami.

Phoenix would be foolish to not take this deal,a s it gives them everything they need and more for Dragic. They receive Norris Cole as a new guard — one of many they have — plus defensive help with Birdman and Josh McRoberts — who is out of rate year but is under contract for the next few seasons.

This isn’t the best trade offer ever but it’s a helluva lot more than the Suns could have ever imagined getting after Dragic nuked their leverage. The deal might not happen, but the Suns have at least heard things they want to hear in return for Dragic.
