The Goran Dragic trade rumors may be coming to an end, as the Miami Heat could have a deal in the works that sends Norris Cole to Detroit and Goran Dragic to South Beach.

The Goran Dragic drama has engulfed the NBA and is dominating the trade deadline rumor mill, even with a blockbuster in the works between the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder. If the Thunder trade Reggie Jackson to Brooklyn, then they could be looking at Norris Cole of the Miami Heat as a replacement option.

That, of course, is assuming that the Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns don’t have a say in the matter. While the Suns search for the best of the worst deals they’re being offered for Dragic, the Miami Heat could be working their magic to acquire Dragic in a three-team deal.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports, the Miami Heat are closing in on a Goran Dragic trade that would involve Norris Cole heading to the Detroit Pistons.

Norris Cole has been bounced around in trade rumors all season long and Detroit was one of the first places to be mentioned with acquiring him. Both the Cavaliers and Wizards were separately mentioned at different times, but the Pistons have the means and the desire to acquire him.

Their part in alleviating the Goran Dragic drama is last minute in every sense, but the deal helps all parties involved. The Suns would get back draft picks, the Heat would get Dragic and Cole would head north to Detroit — a team in desperate need of a point guard to replace Brandon Jennings.

This is all speculative, and could evaporate into trade rumor dust, but it’s plausible at worst and makes almost too much sense not to happen.
