The Phoenix Suns are embroiled in some serious drama when it comes to Goran Dragic, but the front office has assured everyone a deal will happen one way or another.

About 72 hours ago, there was still hope that the Phoenix Suns would be able to deal one of their guards and find a way to keep Goran Dragic on the team through this season. But after the guard nuked that notion by saying he wouldn’t re-sing, the team has been put in a tough situation.

Dragic has seemingly forced the Suns hand, and in the process screwed them out of the type of return they were hoping to get for him on the market. By taking away all of the Suns leverage in trade talks, the team must now settle for any trade they can get — basically the best bottom of the barrel offer that comes in from another team.

According to Chris Mannix from SI.com, this won’t deter the Suns from trading Dragic, whom they’ve informed will be traded no matter what happens.

This is really the only move the Suns can make at this point as it’s critical that they move Dragic but they can’t hold out for a top deal. That pipe has been smoked for them, as Dragic sawed that option off when he machine gunned their attempts to hold him hostage.

By going Charles Bronson on the Suns, Dragic has forced their hand to the point where they must accept the best deal there, which may end up still being a decent return but nowhere near what it could have been had this trade gone down before Dragic forced everyone’s hand.
